If you're a complete beginner this course is perfect for anyone who wants to explore the art of sewing!

What You'll Learn:

• Week 1:

  • Learn to use a sewing machine
  • Anatomy of fabric & different types
  • Create a thread catcher and tray

• Week 2:

  • Master seams, pivoting, and hand stitching
  • Make your own pincushion and shopping tote bag
  • Follow YouTube instructions for a real-world sewing project

• Week 3:

  • Manage elastics, messy applique, topstitching, narrow hemming
  • Learn to measure fabric to fit projects
  • Sew a scrunchie and a half apron

• Week 4:

  • Dive into the basics of quilting
  • Attach a binding
  • Work with applique and patchwork basics
  • Create a quilted rug mug

• Week 5:

  • Learn quilting patterns and inserting zippers
  • Sew a boxy pouch
  • Gain confidence using sewing tools and equipment

Skills You’ll Gain:

• Thread a machine and fill a bobbin
• Sew straight, zigzag, and patterned stitches
• Understand seam allowances and finishes
• Pin, glue, and baste fabrics
• Mark and cut accurately using scissors and rotary cutters
• Follow written and video instructions
