What You'll Learn:
Week 1:
- Learn to use a sewing machine
- Anatomy of fabric & different types
- Create a thread catcher and tray
Week 2:
- Master seams, pivoting, and hand stitching
- Make your own pincushion and shopping tote bag
- Follow YouTube instructions for a real-world sewing project
Week 3:
- Manage elastics, messy applique, topstitching, narrow hemming
- Learn to measure fabric to fit projects
- Sew a scrunchie and a half apron
Week 4:
- Dive into the basics of quilting
- Attach a binding
- Work with applique and patchwork basics
- Create a quilted rug mug
Week 5:
- Learn quilting patterns and inserting zippers
- Sew a boxy pouch
- Gain confidence using sewing tools and equipment
Skills You’ll Gain:
- Thread a machine and fill a bobbin
- Sew straight, zigzag, and patterned stitches
- Understand seam allowances and finishes
- Pin, glue, and baste fabrics
- Mark and cut accurately using scissors and rotary cutters
