Poetry for Wellbeing

Find your inner poet!

Poetry as a Tool for Wellness focuses on the whole person’s wellbeing.

It’s about individuals using poetry to find meaning in their own lives, rather than understanding exactly what the author may have intended. Using Poetry as a Tool for Wellness, we create an environment of generous support and focus on how poems and words can offer healing and self-understanding. It uses imagination to provide us with a new way to look at our lives and the world around us.

COURSE OUTLINE

Week 1 - Meeting each other, poetically

Week 2 - Finding Joy in the everyday

Week 3 - Loving the Questions

Week 4 - Transitions - All reasons and seasons

Week 5 - Compassion and kindness - Supporting ourselves and others

Week 6 - Empowerment - Standing tall

Week 7 - Don't overthink it - Releasing

Week 8 - Reflection and continuing our self-care in poetry

Bring pen and paper or your favourite notebook along to write in and keep all of your poems in one place. It doesn’t need to be fancy. A 1B5 notebook is great!
